Dear CERN Car Club Members,
CERN Management, the CERN Staff Association and the CCC are monitoring developments concerning the new coronavirus on a daily basis and seek to reduce the risk of transmission of the COVID-19 infection through balanced and operationally applicable measures, as part of the general approach of minimizing activities that are not strictly necessary for the execution of CERN's main mission, while continuing the work and normal life of the Laboratory.
With this in mind, the activities carried out by the Clubs on the CERN site are suspended from tomorrow, Wednesday 11 March 2020.
With regard to the Clubs' off-site activities, the Staff Association recommends that they be reduced to a minimum in order to limit the spread of the virus, as much as possible.
In case where such activities are maintained, despite the recommendations, we request you follow strictly the measures decreed by the authorities, published under the following links: here information published by the Federal Office of Public Health (for Switzerland), here for the Ministry of Health (for France), and here for the Canton of Geneva.
Finally, we should like to remind you that all CERN staff members must follow the measures implemented by the Directorate, which you will find under the link: https://hse.cern/news-article/coronavirus-information-measures-and-recommendations.
You will of course be kept informed of the evolution of the situation and the date of resumption of activities both by the CCC and by the information published by CERN under the link mentioned above.
